With Pixieset, your clients can easily download straight from their Collection to their device, Google Photos, or Dropbox. Depending on your workflow you can provide clients with different file formats and resolutions. You can also allow your clients to download Videos. This article will explain how your clients can download from their Collection.

Note: If you are looking for a general guide to your available Download Settings you can find that here, and if you want to sell digital downloads in your Store, you can find more information on how to do so here.

On this Page:

If you have downloads turned on for your Collection your client will have several options for downloading from the gallery, depending on what you have made available.

Photo Gallery Downloads

Provided you do not have any download limits in place, and once you have gallery downloads turned On, your client/collection visitors will have the option to download the full gallery of photos via the download icon in the Collection. To download, they can:

  1. Click on the download icon at the top right of the Collection

  2. Enter their email address and the download PIN, if turned On

  3. Confirm the Sets to download, the desired resolution, and the delivery method:

Clients can choose to have the photos saved to their device (via a .ZIP file sent to the email address they provide), or to their Google Photos or Dropbox account. If they choose to save the photos to their device, they can unzip/extract the download to save the image files it contains. You can read more on this process here. If they choose Google Photos or Dropbox, the images will be available to view/download in their account.

Single Photo Downloads

Once you have single photo downloads turned On, your client/collection visitors will have the option to download individual photos. From the gallery, they can:

  1. Click the download icon on any photo

  2. Enter their email address and any download PIN (for the first download)

  3. Confirm the desired resolution and the delivery method, and choose to remember this selection if they will be downloading multiple photos:

With Limit Photo Downloads turned On

If you have both single photo downloads turned On and a download limit set, your client/collection visitors will have the option to download individual photos up to the total you’ve set in the limit. From there, they can follow the above steps to download and see the number of remaining available downloads:

With Restrict Downloads to Client Only turned On

If Restrict Downloads to Client Only is turned On, only the Collection Client can download files from the Collection (photo and video), which will be confirmed with the email address they enter (and any download PIN that is in place).

Note: To use this feature, a Collection Client will need to be added to the Collection to allow downloads. If no client has been assigned, you will see a notice to this effect in the dashboard.

Video Downloads

If you have Video Download turned On, your client/collection visitors can download videos. Video downloads through Pixieset will be downloaded in a high-quality MP4 format up to 2048px on the longest edge, based on the orientation of your uploaded video. From the Collection, they can:

  1. Click the download icon on any video

  2. Enter their email address and any download PIN (for the first download)

  3. Download the file to their device
