When a client enters their Collection, the first thing they will see is the Cover Photo! To make a powerful first impression, Pixieset allows you to select a specific Cover Photo image that best represents and showcases the Collection. This article will outline how to change a Collection's Cover Photo, and how to adjust its design and focal point.

There are 2 different ways you can change the Cover Photo for a Collection: using an existing image within the Collection, or uploading a brand new image! You can change it from the Collection’s Design settings tab by clicking Settings > Design > Cover photo:

Alternatively, you can access these options from the photo manager by clicking Change Cover on the cover thumbnail:

From the Change Cover popup, click Select from Collection. You can then choose from any of the photos in your Collection and when you click Select, it will be set as the Collection Cover Photo:

This can also be done via any image directly by selecting the image and clicking More (...) > Make Cover:

From the Change Cover popup, click Browse Computer. You can either select the image you would like to upload from your computer, or drag and drop it directly into the Change Cover pop-up window.

Note: Your Watermark will not be applied to the newly uploaded image.

You can select from range of beautiful designs for your Cover. To do so, go to the Collection > Settings tab > Design and click on your preferred design.

When you select a design, you will see a preview of how your Collection's Cover Photo will be displayed above.

If you would prefer to not use a Cover Photo for a Collection, you can simply select the None option.

If you would like future Collections to use the same design, you can easily edit or create a new Collection Default and select your preferred Cover Photo Style within the Design section!

The Cover Photo is designed to always center around an area of focus while maintaining the aspect ratio of the photo - the ‘focal point’. If you find that this is not focused on the subject, you can easily adjust the Cover's focal point. To make that change, go to the Collection > Settings tab > Design and click on Focal point.

In the Set Cover Focal pop-up window, simply click and drag the green focal point to wherever you'd like your Cover Photo’s focal point to be. This will immediately update the preview, so you can see how the Cover Photo will appear for both mobile and desktop viewing. Once you're happy with your selection, click Done!
