To supplement a Collection Password, you can also set up Client Exclusive Access! When using Client Exclusive Access, you can hide specific Sets from public guests while giving your client full access to the Collection. For example, for a wedding Collection, you might want to only share the 'Highlights' Set with the public and keep photos from 'Getting Ready' just for your client. You can also give clients the ability to mark photos as Private so that the Collection can be shared publicly without having to worry about private photos being viewed. This article will outline how to set up Client Exclusive Access and its available features, along with answer some frequently asked questions.

On this page:

Enabling Client Exclusive Access

To set up Client Exclusive Access for a Collection, go to the Collection > Settings tab > Privacy. From there, simply toggle the Client Exclusive Access option from Off to On.

Once enabled, you can manually type in a Client Access Password of your choice, or use our built-in Generate button to create a secure, random password.

Note: Make sure that the Client Access Password is different from the Collection Password.

With Client Client Exclusive Access set up, visitors can log into the Collection as either a Guest or a Client- each with their own separate password. To Enter as a Guest, the Collection Password will be required, whereas the Client Access Password is required to Enter as a Client.

Photo Sets Visibility

Additionally, with Client Exclusive Access enabled, specific Photo Sets within the Collection can be marked as Client-only; one would have to log in to the Collection as a Client and enter the correct Client Access Password to view, download, or purchase images within those particular Sets.

Note: You cannot make all of the Sets Client-only; you must have at least one Set marked as Public.

Once set up, clients can simply enter the Collection as a Client (i.e. Client Exclusive Access Password) and proceed to mark images as Private. To do so, they can either click the Mark Private icon when hovering over an individual image when in gallery view or click on the Mark Private icon at the top of the enlarged image view.

For easy reference, images that have been marked as Private will have a privacy icon in the top left-hand corner. Additionally, to change the image from Private back to Public, clients can simply click the Mark Private icon again.

You can easily review what photos your clients have marked as Private by going to the Collection > Activities tab > Private Photo Activity.

FAQs

Can I set a Collection Password for Guests at the same time?

Yes, the Collection Password will still work as normal! This way, you can easily create a Collection Password to be used by guests, and a separate Client Access Password for clients. Any visitors to the Collection will be required to enter the correct password, depending on whether they have chosen to enter as Guest or Client.

What happens when Guests purchase an All Photos Digital Download product or use the 4-digit Download PIN?

Those who are accessing the Collection as a Guest and purchasing an All Photos Digital Download product or using the 4-digital download PIN will not receive any photos in the Client-only Sets. Only those who log in as a Client can purchase or download photos within Client-only Sets.

Can I unhide or delete any images my client has marked as Private?

Absolutely! To begin, simply go to the Collection > Activities tab > Private Photo Activity and click the More Options (•••) button to the far right of the image. From there, you can either change the image from the Private back to Public (Unhide) or permanently remove it from the Collection entirely (Delete Photo).
