Accepting Payments with Stripe

Accept credit and debit cards online by connecting a Stripe account.

Stripe is a quick and secure way to accept credit and debit cards online for your Store. By connecting Stripe, you will be able to accept the following:

  • Visa (credit and debit cards)

  • MasterCard (credit and debit cards)

  • American Express

  • Discover (US merchants only)

  • Apple Pay (on supported devices)

Connecting your Stripe account:

Steps:

  1. From your dashboard, go to Store > Settings.

  2. Under Payment Methods, click on Get Started next to Stripe.

3. Click on the Connect with Stripe button. You will be redirected to a Stripe page for you to connect your account. If you don't have a Stripe account yet, you can set one up on the spot. Simply fill out the relevant information in the new window, and click on Authorize access to this account button at the bottom.

If you have an existing Stripe account, simply sign in and click the Connect to my Stripe account.

Disconnecting your Stripe account

You may remove your Stripe account at anytime. After it has been disconnected, your checkout maybe disabled if Stripe was the only payment method you have enabled.

Steps:

  1. From the dashboard, go to Store > Settings.

  2. Click on the Edit button next to Stripe

  3. Click on Disconnect Stripe

  4. Confirm your disconnection.

Stripe international support

You can visit Stripe's global page to see a list of their supported countries.

Processing fee

Generally, Stripe charges a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 for each transaction. This rate may vary based on your country.

Troubleshooting

Error: "This account already exists"

This means that you might have already created a Stripe account before. You will need to restart the connect Stripe process and click Already have a Stripe account to connect your existing account.

Error: "Your order can’t be completed because of an issue with merchant payment setup."

If your customers see this error message when checking out, you will need to contact Stripe support.

Error: "Unable to process payment."

If your customers see this error message when checking out, you will need to contact Stripe support.
