Domains form the address for any link on the internet. Every Pixieset account is given a default Pixieset domain. This is used to form the URLs for any Website or Client Gallery pages. If you have purchased your own custom domain from a third party domain host and you have a paid Pixieset plan for the product you want to connect the domain to, you can use the Custom Domain feature to connect your domain to your Website or Client Galleries.

With Pixieset Website, we will host your published Website and all its content under a default "mypixieset.com" domain. Your Pixieset Website's default domain will always follow the format: yourusername.mypixieset.com

You can view your Pixieset Website's unique default site address from your Website Builder's Domain page (Settings > Domain).

Just like Pixieset Websites, Pixieset Client Galleries will also come with a default domain. The default domain for your galleries will always follow the format: yourusername.pixieset.com

You can view your Client Gallery unique default site address from your Client Gallery dashboard (Settings > Domain).

You can change the beginning of your default domain by editing your username under Profile Icon > Account.

Please note that by editing your default domain, your Website and Gallery links will update automatically. This means that any links you've previously shared with clients will break and you will need to re-share the new ones.

If you want to use a custom domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) instead for your Pixieset Website or Client Galleries, you will need to purchase a domain and have it hosted by a third party domain host.

To briefly summarize, you will need to set up DNS records within your domain hosting account. These are what will point your domain to Pixieset. In your dashboard you can then enter your custom domain and it will connect to your Website or Client Galleries.

Once your DNS records are set up, you can connect a domain to your Pixieset Website from your Website Builder's Domain page (Settings > Domain). This is a feature available for users on any upgraded Website plan or Suite plan.

For your Client Galleries, you can connect a custom domain from Client Gallery Domain settings (Settings > Domain). This is a feature available for users on any upgraded Client Gallery plan or Suite plan.

At this time, Pixieset does not provide or host custom domains. If you want to use a custom domain with your Pixieset Website or Client Gallery, you will need to first purchase one from a third-party domain host provider (e.g. GoDaddy).

Provided your custom domain remains hosted elsewhere with a third-party domain host provider, you will then be able to connect it to use with your Pixieset Website while on any upgraded Website plan or Suite plan, or to your Client Galleries with any upgraded Client Gallery Plan or Suite Plan.

Because Pixieset does not host domains, you cannot transfer your custom domain over to us to host.

If you're looking to connect it to use with your Pixieset Website or Client Galleries, you will need to point this to Pixieset from your current host’s DNS Settings following the relevant guides for Website or Client Gallery.

Like custom domains, we do not provide or host custom email addresses. However, if you have one that is hosted elsewhere, you can use this within Pixieset as your Account Email or Contact Email.

Each Pixieset Website can only have one custom domain pointed to it. You will not be able to point multiple domains to the one Website. If you have a second domain that you'd like to use with your Pixieset Website, you may like to consider setting up a redirect with your domain host.

You can connect your domain to either Pixieset Website or your Client Gallery. If your connected custom domain is leading to your client galleries, this means that you have connected your custom domain to your Client Gallery instead.

To connect it to your Website instead, you will need to first go to Client Gallery > Settings > Domain to remove your custom domain from your Client Gallery. Then, go to your Website Builder > Settings > Domain to connect it to your Website instead.

If you have successfully connected your custom domain following our guide, the DNS records you set up and the security certificate may be taking some time to generate.

We recommend leaving up to 72 hours for this to complete. You should also try clearing the cache of your browser in case older results are loading. You can always reach out to our support using the help icon in your Dashboard and we'd be happy to help!

A security certificate verifies your Pixieset Website and confirms that information passed between your Website and our server is secure. We will automatically issue a security certificate for your custom domain as soon as you have connected the custom domain to your Website. This can take up to 24 hours, and there is nothing you have to do on your end for this.
