Videos

Required Formats

Pixieset supports the following video formats for uploads up 3840 x 2160px (4K):

  • MP4

  • MOV

  • AVI

  • M4V

Note: Pixieset does not scale up your videos. If a file is uploaded in 1920 x 1080px and your subscription allows up to a 3840 x 2160px (4K) size for downloads, Pixieset will not scale up the video to become 3840 x 2160px (4K).

Recommended Settings

To optimize the video upload process, as well as your client’s download experience, we recommend the following video encoding settings:

  • 3840 x 2160px (4K) (available on select premium plans) or smaller

  • MP4 file format

  • H.264 video CODEC

  • 8-bit 4:2:0 or below

Note: Video downloads through Pixieset will be downloaded in a high-quality MP4 format up to 3840 x 2160px (4K) in size, depending on the original video you have uploaded and your plan.

Pixieset Website

Required Image Formats

  • JPEG, PNG, or GIF files up to 50 MB in size

Note: Uploads lower than 5 MB in size and close to 2500px on the long edge are recommended to optimize website performance. Uploads are automatically optimized for fast loading and display purposes for you so resizing files isn’t a requirement but it will help optimize performance.

Other File Recommendations

Filenames

  • Alpha-numeric characters only (A-Z, 0-9, with a dash "-" or underscore "_") as clients may have difficulty downloading your files since most built-in unzip programs cannot process most special characters

Note: Pay special attention to the vertical bar (|), as this tricky character is easy to miss when you're reviewing the filenames for special characters.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How many images and videos can I upload to Client Gallery and Pixieset Website?

Since all Pixieset subscriptions are storage-based, the number of images and videos you can upload will depend on the file sizes and your current Pixieset Subscription(s). You can manage your subscriptions from your Billing page.

Is there a file size limit for video uploads?

There aren’t any limits to the video size you can upload. That said, we’d recommend uploading videos that are 3840 x 2160px (4K) or smaller for best results. You can upload as many videos to your collections as you like within the limits of your Client Gallery or bundled Suite Plan.

Can clients purchase any of my image and video files from their Collection?

All image file types are available for sale as digital image downloads. If you're selling print products, files must be uploaded to the Collection in JPEG format. At this time, video uploads can be downloaded through the Collection but they cannot be sold through your Collection’s integrated Store.
