Adding Terms of Sale or a Digital Image License to your Store

Learn where you can set Terms of Sale or add a Digital Image License for clients to view before making a purchase.

Providing explicit Terms of Sale or a Digital Image License for your clients can help them understand your pricing and refund policies, or the usage rights and limitations for the images they want to purchase. This information is provided to your clients during the checkout process alongside the Pixieset Terms of Service, and placing an order indicates agreement with those terms.

Note: Since every business is different, Pixieset does not provide guidance on the content of any Terms of Sale or Digital Image License you choose to specify.

Terms of Sale

The Terms of Sale for your Store will typically clarify things like information about how the photos will be produced and delivered, or details about how issues or refunds will be handled.

To define the Terms of Sale for your Store, go to your Store Settings (Dashboard > Store > Settings) and scroll to the Terms of Sale section.

In this section, you can add your terms, which can include links to related pages or documents outside of Pixieset. Click Save when finished.

What does the client see?

When a client places an order in your Store, they will be provided with a link to this information on the checkout page, before placing their order. Clients are also notified that by clicking the Place Order button, they are agreeing to the Terms of Sale that you have provided.

When your client clicks on the Terms of Sale link, this will open in a new window for them to review without losing progress on their order.

Digital Image License

In addition to the Terms of Sale for your Store, you can also provide a Digital Image License for your clients. This can define things like details about ownership or copyright, as well as the usage rights for the digital images your client is purchasing.

To add a Digital Image License to your Store, go to your Store Settings (Dashboard > Store > Settings) and scroll to the Digital Image License section. Enter the details for your Digital Image License, and click Save when you’re finished.

What does the client see?

When reviewing your Terms of Sale, your client will be able to easily access your Digital Image License by clicking on that section.
