Within your Pixieset Website dashboard, you can find various global settings to help your manage your website. These are more general settings that apply to your website as a whole such as Custom Domain, SEO, and Analytics. This article will provide an overview of the Site Settings Tab which can be accessed by clicking on the gear icon in the top left of your dashboard.

On this Page:

Domain

Your domain is the primary name used for your Website URL (or address). The Domain tab is where you can view the Default Domain for your website. If you have a paid Website or Suite Plan, you can connect your own Custom Domain.

SEO Manager

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is an important aspect for your website as it will improve visibility in search engines and bring more traffic to your pages. Click SEO Manager to load our easy-to-use SEO Modal where you can edit Page Titles, Descriptions and run Audits to ensure your website is optimized.

Blog

The Blog section provides global settings relating to your Blog Feed. This includes editing any Categories and choosing whether your blog posts will show Publish Dates or Related Posts. More specific blog options can be found in the main Blogging Tab.

Social

The Social section provides tools for connecting your social media accounts and controlling how your website appears when shared online.

The global social settings here include:

  • Social Links: The Manage Social Links button will take you to your account’s Profile Dashboard. Under Social, you can add URLs for any social media profiles you have. These will then be automatically added as linked icons in the footer of your website.

  • Instagram Feed: Use the Instagram Feed option to connect an instagram account to your website. This option will automatically show recent posts and connect to your chosen profile which can be displayed in your footer or through Social blocks. Learn more about connecting an Instagram feed.

  • Site Social Image: Upload a custom preview image for your website. This will be used when sharing your website URL online. Learn more about managing your social sharing images.

Tracking and Analytics

In this section, you can access our third party analytics integrations: Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel. These services can be used for tracking visitor traffic and other data to help you optimize your website. Learn more about Analytics here.

This is also where you can access the Cookie Banner feature. Cookie Banners can be used to inform visitors that your site uses cookies. Simply turn the toggle on and you can customize a cookie banner with a message and a link. Learn more about adding a Cookie Banner here.

Advanced

Lastly, the Advanced tab contains some significant tools for managing your website. These include settings for privacy, adding custom code and taking your website offline.

Privacy

At the top you’ll see some privacy options such as setting a Site-Wide Password. There is also a toggle to Disable right-clicks on Images to help add a layer of security to your photos.

Custom Header/Footer Code

If you have a subscription to Website Pro, or the Pro or Ultimate Pixieset Suite plans, you can use the Custom Header/Footer code features. These can be used for adding code snippets across your website. Most commonly, these can be used for analytics, meta tags or external services.

Site Actions

At the bottom of the Advanced section, you’ll find two important features:

Unpublish Website: This option will take your website offline. All of your content will be safe and accessible via your dashboard but it will no longer be visible to the public. Whenever you’re ready, you can click the main Publish button to make your site live again.

Reset Site: If you want to start fresh and build you site from scratch, you can use this reset option. Please note that any published pages will be unpublished and all page content will be permanently deleted. Afterwards, you can select a theme as a starting point and begin building again.
